I am a Chicago based designer, originally from Ohio’s Greater Cincinnati area. A born maker, creativity comes naturally to me with generations of makers from both bloodlines. This natural predilection for creation combined with an analytical mind leads to a constant curiosity about how and why things work. Because of this, I have been experimenting with a variety of artistic mediums since the very beginning. I love to learn and will try anything at least once. At times I think I nearly have, ranging from the tedium of needlework and embroidery to the less dainty work of set design and construction.
The broad knowledge of materials and techniques I have is a trait that lends itself well to the field of production design for film. I have experience in nearly every department within the art department—I have acted as a production designer, art director, set designer, set decorator, and construction coordinator for short films and as art director and art department production assistant for commercials and feature films.
No matter the artistic application, I believe wholeheartedly in the DIY ethos and the multi-potentiality of human expression. As much as I can, I place the most emphasis on the process of making and the sake of making art purely for love of the craft.
